Being a nurse, educator, and content developer for years, the news of the 2017 update to the Blood Pressure (BP) Guidelines made me immediately think about the number of revisions that will need to be made to written documents, audio/video media, and computerized programs that contain hypertension (HTN) information.

As I was writing last month’s article, I started to reflect on how lucky I was to choose Nursing as a career. When I was in high school, teaching and nursing were two of the most popular careers for women and I was going to be a teacher. Then one day a good friend asked me to go with her to a meeting of our high school’s Future Nurses Club. I joined the club with her and the two of us decided to become nurses instead of teachers.
